Crispy Asian Smashburger Wraps
Savoury, crunchy, sweet, and just a little spicy — dinner done in 15 minutes flat.
You know those nights when you want something that feels like a treat but comes together before anyone gets hangry?
This is that meal.
A crispy smashed burger cooked right onto the wrap. Fresh Asian slaw piled on top. Fold it, eat it, done. One pan. Fifteen minutes. Big flavour. Your family will think you spent way more time than you did — and that's the whole point.
Why this wrap works for you
28g of protein per serving means this meal actually keeps you full. That matters. For women in perimenopause and beyond, a high-protein dinner supports muscle repair overnight, keeps blood sugar stable, and means you're not raiding the kitchen at 9pm.
Real food. Real flavour. Zero fuss.
Real Talk — how I actually make this
I prep the wraps ahead and freeze them. Whole thing. Meat smashed onto the wrap, portioned, laid flat on a parchment-lined sheet pan, frozen solid — then transferred to freezer bags. On a busy weeknight I pull out however many I need, cook them straight from frozen, and while they're crisping up in the pan I throw the slaw together. Dinner is on the table before anyone even asks what's for supper.
That's the move. Make the base ahead. Let the freezer do the work.
What you need
Serves 4 · Time: 15 min
For the burger:
1 lb ground beef, pork, chicken, or turkey
1 tbsp Sesame Ginger Blend ← YG Easy Eats
2 tsp Roasted Garlic Aioli Seasoning Blend ← YG Easy Eats
1 tbsp light soy sauce or tamari
Soft tortilla or flatbread wraps
For the Asian slaw:
1 cup shredded cabbage
¼ cup shredded carrots
¼ cup sliced bell peppers
2 tbsp sliced red onion
¼ cup sliced snow peas
For the slaw dressing:
1 tbsp Sesame Ginger Blend ← YG Easy Eats
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tbsp honey
Optional: hot sauce or chili sauce for serving
Make it
Mix — Combine ground meat with Sesame Ginger Blend, Roasted Garlic Aioli Seasoning Blend, and soy sauce. Mix until just combined — don't overwork it.
Portion — Divide mixture evenly into 4 portions.
Smash — Press meat thinly onto one side of each wrap.
Cook — Place wrap meat-side down in a hot pan. Cook until crispy and cooked through, 4–5 minutes.
Flip — Briefly warm the other side of the wrap, 30 seconds.
Make the slaw — Toss cabbage, carrots, peppers, red onion, and snow peas together. Whisk dressing ingredients and pour over. Toss to coat.
Assemble — Pile slaw onto the crispy wrap. Drizzle with hot sauce if you like heat. Fold and eat immediately.
💡 Pro tip: Make double the slaw — it keeps in the fridge for 2 days and is incredible on its own for lunch tomorrow.

Kitchen Wisdom 💡
Freeze flat first. Lay your burger wraps on a parchment-lined sheet pan and freeze until solid before transferring to freezer bags. They won't stick together and you can grab exactly what you need any night of the week.
Cook straight from frozen. No need to thaw. Place frozen wrap meat-side down in a hot pan. Add 2–3 extra minutes to the cook time. Dinner is still on the table in under 20 minutes.
Make double the slaw. It keeps in the fridge for 2 days and works as a side salad, a topping for rice bowls, or lunch the next day.
Smart shopper tip. Ten pounds of ground meat at Costco or your local market costs less than two restaurant burgers. Do that math once and you will never look at a drive-through the same way again.
Sesame Ginger Blend does double duty. It goes into both the meat AND the dressing. One blend. Two jobs. That's the beauty of a great spice blend — buy one, use it everywhere.
FAQ
Can I use a different protein? Absolutely. Ground beef, pork, chicken, and turkey all work beautifully. Even a plant-based ground meat works here — just make sure it's well seasoned.
Can I make the slaw ahead of time? Yes — make it up to a day ahead without the dressing. Add the dressing right before serving so it stays crisp.
What if I don't have a flatbread or tortilla? Smash the meat directly onto parchment paper, cook it as a patty, and serve it in a lettuce wrap or over rice. Same flavour, different vessel.
Is this kid-friendly? Yes — skip the hot sauce for kids and it's a crowd pleaser. My husband approves and that's my gold standard. 😄
Can I grill these instead of pan frying? Yes — press the meat onto the wrap and grill meat-side down on medium-high heat. Same crispy result with a little extra char.
